This song is about someone close to you commiting suicide. And this version of the song wasn't on 'Fallen', this is the demo version of My Immortal. I think the "Id lvoe to walk away and pull myself out of the rain" verse is about standing at the grave of the person, and not wanting to leave without them but knowing you have to.
I think that in the video, the bandages represented her being held together, not cutting herself or anything like that. |

blue thunder - yes, it's 'servatis a periculum, servatis a maleficum', meaning 'save us from danger, save us from evil'.
i've read on other lyrics sites that this is about Jesus' crucifixtion, but i dunno if i believe that. Ben Moody has said that two songs are religious on 'fallen' : Tourniquet and Whisper. tourniquet is about commiting suicide, but not wanting to go to hell, NOT whisper.
whisper, i used to think, was just about someone who's thought they've had friends, and a perfect life, but realized that they're confused and feel lost and alone. but after reading about the crucixtion theory, i'm not quite sure anymore. it sounds weird, but if the song IS really religious, it seems to have lost some of its meaning. does that sound odd? probably.
the last part, with the fallen angels, IS about the person dying. that's just too obvious. the rest though, i have no idea. |
