balls balls balls. its about drugs. dont even try to say that it isn't coz its blatantly obvious. the whole "its just a shadow that youre seeing that he's chasing." thats a straight reference to a paranoia trip. off weed or acid. some of this song seems to be kind of amphetamine based "My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet," but im not sure. ive never done acid so i wudnt no wot the effects were like. to me i just fit it all into the kind of thoughts i have when im stoned "disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind" and the beauty of it all. sitting back and chilling. and for gods sake "smoke rings of my mind" how is that not a drug reference?
if someone can come up with an explanation on how this isnt a drug song thats decidedly better than all the other guff ive just read then fine. i'll eat my hat. |

yeah i think this song is basically about losing a connection with your loved one. but enough of all that malarky. this song is truly amazing, the best moneen song by far, and one of my favourite songs of all time. so powerful and so raw. i love it, almost as much as i love the fact that i'm seeing them tomorrow night in Leeds :) ho ho ho i cannea wait. even though im going with a friend who insists on staying for senses fail. tut tut. i think with any reasonable amount of rational thought, we shudnt spoil that gig with senses fail or from autumn to ashes, i mean horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr |

rite. this song is about how they felt about signing up to vagrant records. they were worried that vagrant might try and influence their sound and style but then they discovered that vagrant are actually pretty damn cool (letting them keep their smallman contract in canada). its on the moneen website i think. read the lyrics it makes perfect sense |

i totally disagree with u recluse girl. and i think ur reading way too deep for a song that has beauty in its simplicity. its about his total lack of confidence in talking to this girl. who he says "who is this" because he hasnt met her before. he believes that she is so right purely on the basis of her beauty. which is so daft but its a human thing. i think the title corresponds to the first few lines and isnt about a forbidden love at all. well thats wot i think anyway |

i always thought that when he said he was leaving, "bail out" meant he couldn't handle the pressure of a relationship and so had to leave. but there you go. dude. why has nobody put anything about this song? it has to be one of std's best. What this album lacks in catchy tunes it more than makes up for with huge helpings of std honesty and poetry. This song is beautiful. about losing hope and finding yourself with no direction but (i think) wondering if that is that bad a way to feel. even though it plainly is. I totally identify with this song. Dude.(sigh) |

no he doesn't get the girl. work it out. this song to me is about seeing that girl in a bar/pub/club or whatever. the girl that you will remember for a lifetime, and knowing that if you don't try and speak to her you will regret it forever, but at the same time knowing that it is utterly pointless. her beauty is consuming his ability to speak and (slightly off the point a bit) it is quite tragic that he (master lyricist and poet) cannot think of what to say. So there. |
