Coheed and Cambria – Gravemakers and Gunslingers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Storyline aside, is anyone else getting an allusion vibe to Stephen King's Dark Tower series? |
Cartel – Wasted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wyclef: Manhattan, Twin Towers, Nuclear North Korea, Bloodshed in Iraq, Hearts tellin', clenched, screamin' (?) "Send the troops back" Turn the microphone up, You gotta hear the feedback No more war, too many wasted Not completely sure of that middle line, but the rest I've got. |
Boys Night Out – Composing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
No, that's the interpretation I had as well...another example of the dementia. One side note, though...after cutting off his hands, how does he both cook for and poison his houseguests? |
The Lawrence Arms – The Disaster March Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well, at least I got half of that stanza correct. I swear, I must have listened to that part of the song thirty or forty times trying to figure it out by ear, and every time I'd realize about three seconds too late that I was too busy bouncing my leg to the guitars to pay attention to the words. Ah well...even though the words were wrong, I got the phonemes! Fixed it, btw...thanks for pointing it out. |
Gatsbys American Dream – Speaker For The Dead Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Am I the only one who hears "green light" and thinks of The Great Gatsby itself? |
Gatsbys American Dream – Pompeii Lyrics | 16 years ago |
First line should read: "Set against the mountain side, and oh the hubris burns so bright." Feeds into the attitude expressed both by and about the Pompeiians |
Nightwish – Ghost Love Score Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Such an amazing song. |
Nightwish – Creek Mary's Blood Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Makes me think of the American westward expansion, mostly how one-sided and ecumenical it was. The Trail of Tears was a famous example of the suffering inflicted on Native Americans...sadly, it is not the only one. The use of Lakotan is haunting...nothing offers more indemnification than the voice of your victim... |
The Lawrence Arms – The Disaster March Lyrics | 18 years ago |
(I'm) On the head of the tower, please come with me It's the end of the world, sit and watch with me On the head of the tower, please come with me It's the end of the world, sit and watch with me Oh Sorry...thought I had posted it before |
A Wilhelm Scream – Anchor End Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Since when does that mean that's what's in the song? |
The Lawrence Arms – The Disaster March Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I got the line...finally :) |
Armor for Sleep – Frost and Front Steps Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I can't believe no one's commented on this song! It's so f'ing amazing...made even better because it puts words to so many of the relationships I've had... |
The Lawrence Arms – The Disaster March Lyrics | 18 years ago |
There's a two line stanza, repeated once, that is towards the end...between the last two stanzas up there. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is...my brain can't get past the riffs to focus on the words. If I figure it out, or if someone else can catch it, I'd love to put it up here. |
The Lawrence Arms – The Ramblin' Boys Of Pleasure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Their best song live, at least from the December show in Minneapolis...close second goes to "100 Resolutions" There's just something about getting 150 people to scream "We're the ramblin' boys of pleasure" as loud as they can... |
The Lawrence Arms – Brickwall Views Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I've seen these guys in concert twice, got to talk with them a bit after each show. Hands down some of the coolest guys I've ever met. |
