I'm kinda confused too. I saw Distillers at a festival this summer and Brody said right before she sang it "This is not a love song" Maybe it's irony, maybe it aint. I think it's about a relationship that's turned sour. "Baby you make my heart beat faster" Is meant to be sarcastic with the "Baby" Basically it's saying "Oh yeah i'm fucking CRAZY about you". Someone was in love, now they hate that person. I dunno. But Distillers fucking rule. |

For me this song is all about living for the moment. At the beginning of the song they are both completely in love and it feels like they're going to be together forever- "Tell me I'm forever yours and you're forever mine" It's that moment in most relationships when you feel and almost 'know' you are going spend the rest of your life with that person. The second half of the song is all about the person who the song is about, explaining that he/she realises they can't be together forever because "There is no always forever just this". For me that line explains the whole meaning of the song, nothing lasts forever because there is just "This", just the here and now. For me the line "There is no if...just and" means that there is no 'if you die..' there is only 'and you die' because it isn't a possibility that one of them will die, it is a fact, which again brings the whole meaning of "there is no always forever" out of the song. You can't have someone forever, so you have to make the most of the present moment. |

| This song does something to my insides. It is truly amazing. To me it's about a situation that occurs in many relationships. A guy and a girl, love each other madly. She tells him how she feels, but he doesn't say what he feels outloud to her, he only thinks of all the amazing ways he loves her. She thinks that because he doesn't say it, that he doesn't love her. But she doesn't understand that he does love her, he loves her so much it chokes him up and he can't say the words! Hehehe there we are. Dammit i LOVE this song. The music makes me feel like im in a dream which is why it fits so well with the lyrics! | |
