This is scarily accurate about me n my ex. I'm the same as kellymac, I like certain parts of songs too. My ex n his mates r making my life hell, they take every opportunity to hurt me, and r telling me so many lies and stories that I have no idea who to trust and who not to. V similar to "Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies, so i don't know what's real and what's not, always confusing the thoughts in my head, so I can't trust myself anymore." My ex used to think I was indispensible to him ("Don't want your hand this time I'll save myself") I love this song and can't begin to say how accurate this is about the situation with my ex. |

I love this song. Can anyone analyze it further for me? I'd love to know what the 'Lightning Seeds' wanted it to mean, anyone any idea? 'My insides will look like war' was exactly how I was feeling, cos it was true I was that distraught. Its about how religion tries to hide young people form learning about sex. I'm somewhat religious so I'm not going to say anythign bad. This song shows how a young person was curious about sex but was made to feel guilty about it and believeing that a religious practice would clean her mind of it all. I don't think people should be restricted as much as they are from learning about sex, yes be taught how to be careful but no-one will stop people from having sex, especialy not parents. Alanis Morissette is fantastic at expressing her views in a hidden way. The meanings of her songs are not obvious. Fantastic though. |

There are two phrases in this song that again apply to life. One is my screen name 'Surrender your ego'. Don't hide the real you behind a false personality (ego). The other is 'Show yourself, destroy our fears, release your mask' again be yourself, don't act differently to try and gain respect, people will only respect you when you are truly yourself. Freddie Mercury has a lot of respect for the way he was, and his positive outlook on life. |

Its about life. Replace the word 'show' with 'life'. Its saying that there are hard times in life but we should carry on and still aim high. Freddie Mercury was very optimistic, even when he found out he had aids, this was his outlook on life and if we all think about it it should be true. Its telling us that life goes on regardless fo what happens. Very meaningful. |
