yes... the track is titled monolith, yes mudvayne is interested in Stanly K's work but, if you read what is said, they are basically saying how they see evolution occured. thru which is drugs. thats just my 2cents. i think the only realtion to 2001 is the fact its called monolith which in the movie is symbolic for the whole evolution side of things. so who ever said its a tribute... personaly i think your wrong |

Nah this wasn't writen by Kud apperently it was writen by the drummer sPaG, i think or Ryknow.. i think it was sPaG.. but it makes more sense if it was sPaG... because the first 2 lines

To me is talking about the Hermetic order of the goldern dawn.. which sPaG is a huge part of.. if u ever look at his arm ull see a tattoo of a blue triangle with a yellow sun and a big red cross... that the symbol of the goldern dawn. Also looks at the idea of Shamanism which is the use of the archaic techniques of ecstasy that were developed independent of any religious philosophy.

I dont think its about divorce.. when i read it i get sense that the parents that are being spoken about are still together just fighting all the time... and the parents are staying together just for the kids... the parents are always wanting a divorce but they just stay together basically... perhaps this is my opinion as this is the situation between my parents... |

i believe this song comes down to the history of the real natural being, and looks and the though of the Fruid concept of the ego, super ego and the "id", which i get from the quotes correy uses, " Inhabit the riddle and fill in the hovel " which is a direct quote to idipus rex (i think thats the spelling) but if u know about it all take it into account.
Or it could just be about the way everyone in society strive to be something but in the end they die and turn to nothing so it all comes back to a cycle of nothing (zero). which makes a bit of sense when you look at the song "left Behind".

Basically the vibe I get when I listen to this song, is if you have ever had one of those experiences when you are always down no matter what and you feel as if you are lost and stuck below the norm... (Although I hate that term "normal") you ask you self plenty of questions and just wish you could become a normal person and learn to live/love... well anyways if u experience that type of feeling enough you become like immune to reality and your like who gives a shit.... that’s my opinion tho, the only true meaning of the song could only be know from Kud's subconscious anyways :P |
