...
The Ainur are currently one of the most important musical realities in the world Tolkien scene: their records are in fact focused on the musical transposition of the books and works of JRRTolkien .
Their record production to date boasts 5 albums , From Ancient Times (2006), a symbolic journey inside “The Silmarillion”; Children of Húrin (2007), inspired by the book of the same name by JRRTolkien; Lay of Leithian (2009), completely dedicated to the story dearest to the Master, that is, the long poem focused on the great story of Beren and Luthien; The Lost Tales (2013), an acoustic album that retraces the deeds of Eriol in “The Lost Tales”; War of the Jewels (2021), inspired by the 11th volume of the History of Middle-Earth and the creation of the Silmarils and the wars that ensued. The band also has 2 DVDs under its belt , one included in the special edition of Children of Hurin and one completely live entitled Progressive Rock Night , in whose making Federico Alotto, a well-known director from Turin, participated. The first works were produced by Beppe Crovella and Electromantic Music in the Italian prog catalogue; the latest album and the consequent discographic path is curated by Rockshots Records.

Alongside the discographic path, Ainur also compose and produce impromptu singles always inspired by the stories of the Oxford Professor: at the end of 2014 the first single There and Back Again was released , to date the only work of the band to pay homage to a timeless work by JRR Tolkien: The Hobbit ; in 2018 it was the turn of Fall of Gondolin , an anticipation of one of the most important stories in the entire Tolkien cosmogony; in 2020, inspired by the global pandemic, Shadow from the East was released , from the appendices of The Lord of the Rings; in 2023, Forging of the Rings was released , a song created to pay homage to the poetry of the formation of the Rings of Power, which also inspired the Amazon series. The Ainur always use an orchestral style of writing , bringing classical instruments closer to modern electric instruments, tackling different genres and sounds from time to time to recreate the mythological and cosmogonic complex of JRR Tolkien. In addition to a stable formation of 12 elements, various guests have joined over time, including the Orchestra I Musici di San Grato directed by Edoardo Narbona, Alessandro Cammilli from the Teatro Regio in Turin, Alan Brunetta , Ferdinando Catalano and in the latest album Ted Nasmith , Roberto Tiranti and Derek Sherinian.

They like to define their work as a Concept Work , a set of concept albums that form a single great conceptual work dedicated to The Silmarillion. The band annually participates in the great fantasy events of the Italian and European scene and constitutes a stable reality in the Italian progressive world and in the fantasy field in general.
