Featuring a pair of alluring frontwomen in Berklee College of Music voice majors Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, Brooklyn-based indie pop quintet Lucius, which also relies on the talents of drummer Dan Molad and guitarists Peter Lalish and Andrew Burri, specializes in an evocative mix of torchy, pedal steel-infused Americana and beguiling, urban indie pop that falls somewhere between Neko Case, Blanche, and Cults. The group released their debut eponymous EP in 2012, followed by their New York Times- and NPR-approved full-length debut, the Mom + Pop-issued Wildewoman, the following year.
