A Rocket to the Moon, was an American rock band. It started as the musical project of lead vocalist and guitarist, Nick Santino in 2006. He released EPs like Your Best Idea (released December 26, 2006) and Summer 07 EP (released on August 16, 2007) with bassist, Joe Cafano, and drummer, Mike Cafano.
In 2008, A Rocket to the Moon was signed to Fueled By Ramen. And bassist and backup vocalist Eric Halvorsen and lead guitarist and backup vocalist Justin Richards (also of Brighten) joined A Rocket to the Moon. Drummer, Andrew Cook eventually joined the band. And on October 13, 2009, they released their debut album On Your Side.
They went on their first headlining tour, the On Your Side tour in the Spring of 2011 with Anarbor, Valencia, Runner Runner, and Go Radio.
They released their second studio album Wild And Free on March 26, 2013.
On May 20, 2013, A Rocket to the Moon announced that they would have one last show at the Bazooka Rocks Music Festival in the Philippines on August 25, 2013 before disbanding. They would also be having their One Last Night tour, which included countries in southeast Asia like Singapore and Indonesia.
After the band disbanded, Nick Santino went on a solo career with the band The Northern Wind. Their first EP was called Going Home had 4 tracks and was released on iTunes on July 30, 2013. Their second EP The Ones You Meet Along The Way: A Collection of Stories from the Road had 7 tracks and was released on October 22, 2013.
