Boris is an experimental metal band from Tokyo, Japan. Formed in 1992, their line-up has consisted of Wata (guitar/keyboard/vocals), Atsuo (drums/vocals), and Takeshi (bass/guitar/vocals) since 1996. The band has released 20 studio albums, 11 collaborative albums (6 of which with noise artist Merzbow), 5 live albums, and numerous EPs, singles, and music videos. Boris frequently shifts between genres from song to song and album to album, flirting with drone (Feedbacker, Flood, Akuma no Uta), metal/rock (Heavy Rocks I & II, Pink), crust punk (Vein), and dreamy pop-rock (Attention Please) among others.
