Justin Bieber was born on 1st March 1994. He was raised in Ontario, Canada and rose to fame after he began posting his performances on YouTube. These videos caught the attention of Scooter Braun, a talent agent and former So So Def marketing executive. Scooter helped him gain an audtions with Usher, who was so impressed that Island/Def Jam signed the then 15 year old Bieber to a recording contract.
His first single to be released in May 2009 was "One Time", which had a music video produced for it and featuring Usher. The song went platinum in both Canada and America. His debut album "My World" only contained 7 songs, which would go on to reach platinum, and was quickly followed with a "second half" that included 10 tracks, "My World 2.0".This follow up had over 8,000 fans pre-orders. The two albums have been combined in some countries and simply titled "My Worlds".
In 2012 he returned with his sophomore studio album "Believe". This featured the hit song "Boyfriend," and included guest appearances from the likes of Ludacris, Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Bieber has received industry awards such as Artist of the Year at both the 2010 American Music Awards and 2012 American Music Awards, and was nominated for the Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards.
He has been twice named in Forbes magazine's top ten most powerful celebrites in the world.
Fans label themselves "Beliebers", and he has over 60 million Twitter followers.
