In my opinion this song is about self harm\depression for many reasons. In the very beginning, it talks about having 2 faces, which one is screaming for help and the other one hides their feelings. It then says once they are alone they truly release their feelings, and trying to act put together in front of family. It then says about telling the family about where their mind has gone and telling them about possibly hurting themself. The family in this song would then freak out, and cause a war. They writer has caused the people that they love most emotional pain, or shot their own general. They are the results of all of their flaws and bad choices, they have hidden it, turned into something they are not, and become very sad and lonely. In the next verses, they talk about how they have to think and experience their feelings to do their job, and how it requires much more than a brain to do their job.
