Well this is how I see it, in the music video it looks like a futuristic/fantasy romeo and juliet, and looks like a love story, but to me, just the lyrics sound more like this.
Theres a girl singing, so in my head it's a girl talking to a guy, it could be viceversa.
It's a couple, they just broke up and she tries to convince him to come back and that everything is going to be alright (I keep preaching).
He in the other hand does not agree and thinks there's no future for them (But you're not reaching back).
She's super in love with him (Find you through the crowds, like seeing him everywhere).
As she's trying to convince him she's so near him physically but yet so far from him, because of the fact that he doesn't want anything with her anymore (Million miles away, next to me you are, and if you are sitting here, why are we worlds apart)

I play amongst the stars, this part means he's remembering all the good times they spent together but (then fall so low) then he thinks about something she's done to him or something.
