There's a lot I have to say about this song. When I first heard it I of course started relating the lyrics to a personal experience. And as much as this song has to do with romance, in my mind, it also relates to friendship.
It seems that half the reason I'm drawn to a certain person is because of the tragedy they experienced, as I experienced a similar tragedy. Although I am romantically interested in them, I really want more out of the relationship than just sex. I want them to help me cope and I want to help them cope. I know they can do this for me.. and if they'd just give me a chance to show them I can, maybe my relationship with them would mean a bit more. .
But at this point in my life i don't have much strength to put into a relationship, and I don't want to have to work for you to see this. We could really help each other.
