I think that it could be about school shootings, and if you want to interpret it that way that is totally fine, but you don't have to limit it to shootings. This could be about anyone who gets so fed up with all the shit in this world that they harm themselves or others. But if you think of school shooting then that's what it means to you and I respect that. We all interpret songs differently and if the artist doesn't explicitly explain what each song means then we can all hear it differently, and still all be right about the meaning.
