LOVE P!nk. (Hate that she cannot be "searched" for by the correct spelling of her name on this site, though.) She is perhaps my favorite female pop artist for her spunk; creativity; and individualism. With her, I get the feeling she is genuine. She sings specific songs from the heart, not for ratings; they touch the soul of those who may be outside the norm (or at least feel they are outside the norm). She appears to "get" them...to understand what they are going through internally.

I love this track. It's about moving on after a breakup, and it sounds as though it's about a long-term marriage, engagement, etc. For me, it's about a long-term marriage that ended by choice, but the ending was nevertheless sad. When you have children, you have regrets for how your actions impact them, for they are always the victims regardless of how amicable a divorce/ending was.

When you have little interest in dating and starting over with someone new, you have to push yourself. Everyone tells you to date and seek company of the opposite sex, but it's a chore. Nobody wants to get burned again or bored again. It's that risk that is either scary or uninteresting.

P!nk's song resonates because it motivates the listener to let go of the past and move on; it's been over 3 years for me and I need to move on, although most days I have plenty to do with a career; children; and friends. But there will come a time when it will be nice to have a partner for fun and laughs and dinners and dancing. P!nk's song says to trust in yourself and "go for it."

"Gotta get up and try, try, try" because eventually work and children will not be enough, and it's just possible while you were busy "working," you missed out on a great guy or girl who would have made the perfect partner. I love P!nk's songs, especially this one. It hits home.

Thanks, for sharing.
