Good song. Lesson = can't judge a book by it's cover, and that you can almost always find some common ground with a complete stranger, if you try hard enough. (Love of home and warm memories from teenage years are pretty universal ones.) Travel is a great 'equalizer' for people - that is, it is easy to meet interesting people who are going to the same place for a variety of reasons. And, if you're lucky, maybe you can even make new friends.
