This song reminds me of the words to a Johnny Cash song "I walk the line". In that song, the writer / singer stays on the straight & narrow for the sake of his girl, and his relationship with her.

What if its for ourselves, by ourselves? Are we capable, are we deserving, is it worth it?

"They told me that I never would recover" from what? A broken heart? Many times its easier to rebound rather than learn to be a person who is not part of a couple. Lots of things make it hard to grow and learn: tradition, desire, pop culture and one of the strongest forces in the universe: HABIT.

And can you do it without others who are like-minded? Are they even out there? Maybe "no one is listening" and even if they are "no one says nothing". No wonder the writer / singer walks such a "thin line".

No pickup line. Short leash. Walking around instead of using the phone. And maybe keeping your hurt to yourself. Falling from a tightrope could be scary but keep your eye on your goal and peace, poise, stillness and confidence within and soon enough fate will develop.
