I'm surprised no one has commented on this one... I think the song is pretty straight forward; this man has an intimate night with a woman and develops very strong feelings for her but for one reason or another the feelings don't seem mutual. He has a "dull aching pain" for her and wants her to come around again but by the last verse it's obvious that he'll probably never see her again; she isn't heeding to any of his calls and he has to deal with the love inside of him.
