There is so much social and political commentary in this song. Lupe talks about the corruption within the world and how we all see it, yet we none of us speak out against it. We are all drones controlled by the media, having them push less important thoughts into our brains such as the problems you see on the show "Jersey Shore" instead of looking at the real issues of the world.
"A rebel in your thoughts aint gon make it halt
If you don't become an actor you'll never be a factor
Pills with million side effects, Take em when the pains felt"
Here I think he is talking about a individual actually realizing the problems in the world. And instead of speaking out, they feel like they are going crazy for being upset about it, so they see a doctor who loads them up with pills.
"We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even telling you
Sometimes I'm like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I'm locked inside a cell in me, I know that there's a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few"
I think Lupe is trying to tell everyone that they should speak out against all of the corrupt bull shit in the world, especially the United States, and to not be afraid to do so because everyone else is thinking it too. He says this is our bailing out, he is starting to speak what is on his mind so now it's our turn.
Totally Agree especially your last couple of lines "he is starting to speak what is on his mind so now its our turn"
Once Again Lupe is detailing as he would describe "All the worlds ills" (Hurt me Soul), only he is not only describing them, he is basically saying "this is my opinion on them, i am tired of not speaking my mind, so i'm going to let it all get out now"

I believe this because of the last 2 lines of the 3rd verse;
I believe this because of the last 2 lines of the 3rd verse;
"My Screams is finally getting free, My thoughts is finally yelling through" Kinda, i've not spoken my mind yet, but here i go, i'm gunna tell you what i think right now.
GREAT SONG!! well done skylar aswell, i think you added another dimension to this song
psh, people in uganda and mexico need the ability to stand up and speak. They cant do anything without the threat of death. In fact, almost everywhere this is a problem, but I think in accordance with the US, we HAVE the means and while our corruption isnt as obvious, upfront and seemingly not as malignant, we STILL need to stand up for ourselves. This song sort of reminds me of that movie-V for Vendetta. Great flick, I recommend anyone who enjoys this songs and its meaning to go check it out.

Agree with you completely. Especially on the notion of all the corrupt shit in the United States.
