I agree, it's about the mainstream music industry.

"When I look at you, heaven's on fire" When he says "you" he's referring to people who just make music to make money, not for the love of music. Or maybe he's just referring to the people who support all the garbage that the industry feeds to them. "heaven's on fire" is a powerful metaphor for destroying something good.

I really like the line, "We're outnumbered by those who take no pride in constantly moving against the tide" It seems like there are far fewer people out there who take the time to discover music written by real artists who care about what the write, and way too many people who just run with the herd and listen to the crap that plays on most radio stations.

I think this is all turning around with the rise of the internet though. No one has to pay money to discover music any longer. It's all free and available to everyone. I really hope this turns music back into what it was meant to be, an art form, not a business.

I do too, it makes so much sense i could see him having hopes and dreams and thinking about the music industry just agrivates the singer\

"When I look at you, I reach for a piano wire Fight to keep it together, but it's pointless"

Maybe one look at the industry and he reaches to the piano wire to make a song but it's pointless because they run the system.. not even worth it
