I actually think that there is something more to this song. I mean, these are the guys that wrote We Are All On Drugs and Pork And Beans.
The way I interpret the song is that it is making fun of mainstream music. These days so many songs that you hear on the radio are about sex that now it almost just seems casual to sing about it. Weezer is making fun of that by singing a song about something as casual as socks and saying "sex" wherever "socks" should be. I think this song is hilarious and its one of my favorites on Hurley.
