personally, i think the song is just poking fun at the way modern rock music is always so gloomy and depressing... or at least a lot of genres, like grunge, and emo.
Even look at all the really lame Avril Lavigne pop shit you see these days. They are always whining about something pointless!
It's almost like we just want to be pissed off about ANYTHING sometimes... that we forget to just take it easy, laugh at ourselves every now and again!... You know, HAVE FUN!
