Wow, ppl need to comment on this more. It's an amazing song by an amazing band. I think it may be like a community coming together after a big disaster to rebuild what was lost. It also has elements for a relationship being broken and, with both sides working equally, it can be rebuilt. When he sings "I used to feel so invincible 'Til I was seconds away from losing everything", he's kinda saying that he thought the relationship was picture perfect and nothing would ever damage it and when it began to break is when ehe realized how much it meant to him (hence concidering it everything). Just my take on it though
