I feel this song is about her being stuck in a helpless place somewhere she is feeling so alone and so depressed maybe feeling like no one cares for her. Basically she seeks for peace and deliverance from this problem. She calls upon the name of the Lord for that deliverance and she finds the comfort and peace only he can bring. In the first verse he appears to her and she is wondering where he came from. Maybe she was reading the bible and some scripture came to her that really was needed at this time for her or maybe he manifested in a vision/dream or real life or even sent an angel to do his work for angels are messages from god and hence always be near me guardian angel. Also this could be meaning Christ as some theologians believe the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament was the pre-incarnate Christ although im not certain.
