Not the angry old vengeful cosmic Santa Claus in the sky god, but the real and bigger god that is made up of everyone and everything in all possible times and worlds. That god. So this is a “spiritual” (for want of a better term) person he is singing to.
Unfortunately for this person “they kill you when they talk. It makes a mountain peak seem little when it's not” . The mainstream world doesn't get this god stuff they are so into. They try to make the the big mountain (god) seem insignificant by a bunch of stupid hurtful talk saying it is all just a bunch of drug induced hippie type craziness and get thee to a proper church.
