Anyways I think the Angel was put on a sort of trial. The people at the trial (what I think to be the Vampire's clan/coven) are yelling for her wings to be cut off as punishment, possibly a punishment to the Vampire for loving someone he can't have. He's spared from a punishment so in a way he is a "Dead man walking free." Maybe this is referred to in "Beyond The Hourglass" when the latin line at the end say "The guilty man to be judged, Spare him."
I also think the Angel was bitten by the Vampire because of the line "The blood we shared... The love we cannot let go. (I have you now!)" I also think she's a sort of "Angelic Vampire" if that makes any sense to you guys/gals. I mean She still has her beautiful eyes and wings after all.
This was one of the first IAG songs I heard, I still love it.
