Lyric discussion by nervousnellie

I love the recording I have of this song. The male back-up singers with that "bum. bum. bum. bumbumbum bum. bum. bum. bumbumbum" bass line, the palpable emotion with which Nina sings, the crescendo on "the very same as I." Ugh, so good. What a shitty situation to be in though, lyrically. It's about trying to love a philanderer - keeping her hanging on with his charms, and simultaneously gallivanting about town with other women he's treating just as superficially nicely.
