In the chorus ('he loves me, he loves me, he really really loves me') has a definite parodic sound when it is sung, as though she is suggesting that these women are really stupid for staying with men who abuse them in this way. If love hurts this much, it's not love. I don't see Regina encouraging love for someone who "don't treat me right".
