As far as interpretation goes I think it's about being stuck in a loveless/one-sided relationship. I.e "the way you always make me the last in line" This girl (presumably) obviously doesn't think very much of him, maybe even detests him "trembling" or "pull[ing] away" when he tries to hug her (?).
Also, the mention of "going through this life on my own" suggests that he's doing most of the work in this relationship. But also, he seems to be developing the same feelings for her, with "twisted mind" and the fact she's "kill[ing] [him] a little more each day"
Basically this horrendous relationship is falling apart around him and he has no idea what to do about it.
