I always wondered if this song, was about the Nihilism in the suburbs, you know we don't give a shit about tomorrow, and how kids just want to have fun, but their stuck in the suburb hell.
@skatepunkzero Yeah that sounds accurate. To me the "we're in love with you" is clearly sarcastic. Growing up in the suburbs sucks. And growing up we're hammered with that message of going to college, getting a job, staying on the straight and narrow and doing all the same crap just to end up with the same comfortable suburban life. Thus the message of "we don't care", "we don't give a shit about tomorrow", and "SHUT UP" over and over. Lol!
