i love this song. i think is about two people who are just friends, or maybe they have had a thing in the past, but everytime this guy sees her, he "loses control" and wants to be with her. for some reason, they feel like they shouldn't be together. possibly because of history or cuase they're supposed to be 'just friends' but regardless, he's willing to try something new with her, hence the line "if it's love, we can speed it up whenever we know".
