Lyric discussion by slickthellama

lifx is totally off. if anyone else noticed the entire epitaph album deals purely with the issue of death. Every song in epitaph is about death and it's all metaphorical. No morbid lyrics in epitaph, that's what the onset of putrefaction was for, the morbid stuff. Suicmez is definitely going for a pure death metal and his lyrics are extremely technical. I think "thedeathofman" had it damn close when he said that it is basically describing a preacher or anyone who believes in heaven and is basing their beliefs upon conviction toward others. Im not sure if seven is a direct reference to the seven deadly sins. but I think "the seven" 7 if you look at the number seven it can be interpreted as a ladder to heaven. at which point there is a plateau where you would be if you supposedly were higher and found heaven. or even a beam from the heavens from god taking you above all else.

Distracting from your deficiencies while you point at others.

this part is about preachers and those with certain convictions against other's actions in life.

(Once) enlightened you judge and execute.

Once you learn the seven deadly sins or whatever YOU happen to CONVICT as a sin, you can then judge and execute.

To be the only one to discover the seven, (To) toss open and pass the gates to heaven.

To be the only one to discover the 7, that is again, the figurative number seven which looks like a pathway to above

I could be way off but I know in one way or another this song deals directly with death in some regard because all the other songs on this album do the same thing. Suicmez is brilliant either way.

LOL at stabwound666's response to lifx it made me keekle
