Lyric discussion by cellarlily

Probably the best song on what is a fairly lackluster album. Obviously the lyricists got his heart broken and all the songs on the album center around that theme.

I like the chorus a lot with the "seen in the headlines" and "a world famous artist" singing part.

I find the lyrics a littler pretentious and a watered down song reminiscent of the Counting Crows' "A Long December" where the protagonist is wanting to get away from all the lights, the attention, and the fame. He wants to just get back to a warm and safe place, in the arms of his lover, but the rest of the album paints picture of him not getting that and so he will remain hanging on the wall for everyone to just look at and take photos of.

I believe that in the first verse, he's singing "art's just a part" not "all just a part". Also, the chorus sings "a/the world famous art thief".

i don't think it's lackluster at all! and if you haven't noticed, heartbreak and angst sells
