I think hes talking about regretting the way his life has been. "I cursed the streets that run under my feet.." suggests he was probably really poor and living on the streets. He has all these burdens but all he really wants is to be remembered "I hope that I make a mark and stand strong even when Im gone." I see it as kind of a bitter reminiscing of his life and what it could have been. Idk for sure though. But it is a really beautiful song.
