I think this is about how he helped this girl through some really tough times and after he helped her she kind of moved on so of course he got hurt.Also in helping her it made him very happy because they were spending time together and talking which made him feel important/loved.Finally when she didn't need him anymore she casted him aside a few months later though she needed him again and he was like no thnx. =]
