This song is absolutely amazing. I think this is about someone making the the move to better themselves and their life. Like.. the person is saying that sitting around and waiting for the answers and for everything to get handed to you is not the answer. Have to get up and find it yourself and to make a difference.

Yeah, this song is great. I think you're right, but I also see this being applied to a relationship in a way, especially in the opening lines.
