'even suns flick and die' - our religions are 'sun-god' based - but even the gods are mortal, I see this as a stab at all religions. And no matter what type of believe or technology (wisdom), we acquire we are mortal. 'our wishes wont be granted' is our desire for immortality. 'no tower reaches heaven' - our first attempt to join the gods (Babel)...
@Random8 I would more take that as an example of something even as big and long lasting as the sun eventually dies ... our lives by relation are minuscule in time!

@jaughn1150 true (although the sun wasn't created for life, it just the conditions for life). I was more thinking of traditional religions, and the interesting stories that they tell about the creation of the world, sun, sky etc.
