Lovecraft, both being friends and writers, it was Howard who created the fictional ocultist book Unaussprechlichen Kulten (nameless cults or the Black Book) where he talks about ancient civilizations and terrible prehuman entities. Lovecraft used sometimes the book in his tales, one of them, Dagon, have the lines from where Sanders (which is fan of Lovecraft) apparently took inspiration for some of these lyrics. Finally, the references to reptilian creatures probably have been taken from the Call of Cthulhu Mythos, where they appears as creators of ancient civilizations and worshipers of the god Yig.
