i thought it was about the narrator talking about going to the Megaplex to buy some whiskey, but that they were still underaged so they couldn't get it... "telephone spies in every corner" and "a policeman is trying to warn ya"

then again, i may just be reading this song to literally... but if it is, there's something poetic about the line "As soon as I'm legal, this love affair is over," cuz it reminds me how underaged kids love getting plastered, but when people are actually old enough to buy the stuff legally, getting drunk sorta loses its novelty--the thing that made it so fun and exciting
