i dont think jerry's being an asshole! he feels bad that layne doesn't talk to him much any more, he misses his friend.. thats what i get out of it. i don't think he RESENTS layne, but of course he frustrates him, and of course he's sorry layne's addicted to drugs. is that judging him, or is that more like emotional attachment?
