I suffer from an eating disorder and the moment I heard this song, that's all I could think of.

Christmas and other holidays are killers for people with an ED. Especially Christmas. Plus, it's cold..and people with a low BMI get really cold.

I think here augustana is portraying how many people with ED's try to escape with weight pills/other forms of harmful drugs as well as cigarettes.
Eating dissorders and cigarettes almost come hand is hand.
However, this song is brilliant. As is Augustana in general. It's perfect.
