think it's about being torn between your feelings for someone and rationalisations about why you shouldn't be with him/her or why it ended/should end
and about making a decision to end it for whatever reason, but still having feelings despite all the reasons its not right

it says a lot about how we often do that in life with our relationships... say what we don't mean inside, deny our true feelings for the sake of something - be it coping with the disappointment and sadness of a relationship - esp one that has finished without real closure.. or that couldnt be realised....
