I think it's about loving someone to death - literally. He can't stand how much he loves someone, therefore kills 'm? He doesn't want to hurt her ("using the nice lace"), he doesn't want to realise who he's killing ("trying to erase your face".)
One thing I don't understand: why ty someone up if you're going to shoot them..?
