I'll admit I'm a terrible lyric-interpreter. I'm not sure exactly what this song is about, but I really doubt it's about being a photographer. Maybe life, experiences, [etc., etc.] and especially meaningful memories inspire the song's writer like a wondrous or spectacular view, object, scene, or what have you -would inspire a photographer.
