Jerry wrote this song and I read a long time ago how he had a long time girlfriend he he loved back home. However he could never be faithful to her due to his "needs" and touring...and what not. I think this song is about how his girlfriend had enough with him and his behavior. She breaks up with him because she cant take it anymore. He feels bad and he thinks that she "got him wrong". Who knows? Maybe he didnt do anything with another woman and she got him wrong or maybe he did. However, he does feel heartbroken because he truly loves this girl but he cant help himself.
