This song is the first on the new record that came out yesterday, Apathetic EP. It's a phenomenal song, my favorite on the whole thing, personally, even above the others from Mmhmm that are now acoustic.
I think these lyrics are slightly wrong- the words aren't "a world full of sinners" but "a world full of cynics" instead.
I'm pretty sure the song is about putting your faith in God, and how it's sometimes hard to believe in Him when you don't have any hardcore proof. I feel this way and am so relieved Relient K released a song about it.
"I'll put the emphasis on the evidence"- I love the way Matt sings this part. Believing in the little things that prove His existence- the small miracles- and the large ones, too- just to contradict your doubt because you know it's the right thing to believe. And yet, you feel as if you HAVE to believe for fear of going to Hell, but you WANT to believe as well, because you love God.
