I agree with thedeparturefreak, this song is about Hollywood being over-rated. I think this song is told in the perspective of a support-actor who thought that fame was gonna be great, then it turns out that it isn't: "Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining / Like you do, maybe I could". I think also it's about him falling in love with the lead actress, and she spreads a load of rumours about him to the media, which is why he says "You stole my lips, and tangled them without intent / Kiss and tell the radio..."
