Wrong. What would be the point of making a cover if it's going to be exactly like the original? How retarded would it be if I just played the exact same thing John Lennon did, and then still get riches and royalties from it? Duh, common sense dude.
And I'm pissed off I started reading what people said about this song because APC's cover is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Maynard's vocals make me want to cream myself. People seem to go "But he took all the optimism out of the original!". Well, maybe it's just me, but APC's version makes me even more optimistic for a better world than John Lennon's did. It makes me go "This world is so fucked up, I wish it were better". John's did nothing for me. Not to say I didn't like his version, but for me, APC's version stirs me up much more for some reason...
