mechassassin1... i don't think it can be about 1984- although i can see the overall theme could be likened to it, the lyrics themselves make no reference nor allusion to anything. personally i think it's about people's lives being empty and them not being able to better themselves. the lines
"in their milk flats with five kids too many" and
"I am dreaming of a life / and it's not the life that's mine"
make my point i think.. they make me sad too, lol. overall a fantastic song- one i don't think i'll ever tire of- and as proven, one that has a lot of meaning that everyone interprets differently. great tune, riffs too. what else do u want from a song? :P
